“The Secret of Great Style is to feel Good in What you Wear” – Ines De La Fressange
Hiii, I am Pawanpreet (pronounced as Puh-vh-n Pr-eeeeeet). I am a computer science professional with an eye for style. Born in India and living in Canada, I am thrilled to welcome all of you to my humble blog.
I never liked the loud fashion and my experience and observation of fashion were we do not wear those loud numbers in our routine life. They come in handy when we are having once in a while club night away from our busy schedule. Otherwise, we all look for our own style that defines our personality.
The most common factor among women style and choices are the elegance and regality of the outfit. An outfit that says, ” You are talking to a Lady“. That’s where the idea of Elbe Couture came – to bring the elegance from different labels under one roof.
Born out of the passion for regal fashion, Elbe Couture House is dedicated to Elegance.
Elbe Couture brings runway and haute couture collections from high-end designers as well as in-budget high street. Elbe Couture is here to turn what you buy into style. Our wardrobe should not be bound to fashion as fashion is just a trend while style is personal that lives with us forever. The Elbe is determined to bring that timeless beauty to your wardrobe.
So If you are looking for wardrobe inspiration to dress up in elegance you are at the right spot – Elbe. If you want to know a bit more about me and Elbe I have answered a few questions below that I usually receive.
So let us begin this stylish and elegant journey that I am excited to see where it takes us.
I started Elbe Couture as a Hobby. With time it became a fixture in my regular life and now I am posting on it every day constantly. It happens because of my lovely followers and readers. Every single one of you who reads the blog regularly, appreciate my passion here on the blog, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram. Today if Elbe is a success its not just my hard work but your love and appreciation contributed equally to its success.
I receive lots of DMs and Emails asking me lots of question. I try to answer all of them as early as possible. Many times the questions are pretty similar, so I have decided to answer all the common questions here so that the new readers and followers will get to know me beforehand. If there is anything that should be added to this question-answer round then let me know I will add it. So let us begin the interview:
Why did you start Elbe? What is your muse or inspiration behind Elbe?
I am a dress girl. I love everything about dresses. Almost a decade ago, I started creating those Pinterest pictures where you will see a dress paired with different accessories. At that time it was a once in while thing. I would look at a dress somewhere, download it and keep it on my computer. After a few days or sometimes weeks found a picture of shoes or earrings that I would think, “oh! they will look great with so and so dress” and put those two pictures together in one. Neither professional nor serious. Fast forward 10 years and in 2017 I started doing it for my royal blog. And in 2018 I decided to dedicate a separate blog for all those pictures. My inspiration or muse was always those beautiful dresses.
Why did you name your blog the Elbe?
There is no specific reason for naming my Blog ‘Elbe’. A long time ago, I read about historical rivers, Elbe – one of the major rivers of Central Europe was one of them. It rises in the Krkonoše Mountains of the northern Czech Republic before traversing much of Bohemia and Germany then flows into the North Sea at Cuxhaven. I liked its name, it remained in my mind. So while Christening new blog, it again showed its presence in my thought process and without thinking twice I chose Elbe. It was totally a spur of the moment decision.
Why do we never see your face on any of the pics?
Elbe is not about me or how do I look in those outfits, It’s about style and style is a personal choice. I just want ladies out there to look at the outfits I put together and imagine their own selves in that outfit instead of seeing someone else’s face. It’s all about imagination.
My Blog is like a book. The best thing about books is, they let your imagination go wild. There is no pre-conceived visual to restrict your imagination. You see a dress, not a person wearing a dress. So you can imagine your own self in that dress very easily.
Putting my face on it will turn it into visual that I believe is going to restrict your own creativity and imagination like movies where the character is always restricted by the face of the actor playing the character.
Why don’t you model like other fashion and style blogs for your own blog?
Two reasons – One I am not a model.
Second, as mentioned in the previous question, Elbe is not about me, If I put my face on those outfits or start modelling for those outfits, It will not be about style anymore. Everything will start revolving around my face or look, what I am doing/wearing etc. As we have seen in the cases of many style blogs.
Do you get paid to post the dresses, shoes and accessories on your blog?
Sometimes yes. If it is a paid post then you will see #ad or #sponsored in the post tags. But most of the time, I do not get paid to post any product on my blog or social media. I only endorse those products that I have faith in or I have personally used.
I participate in the affiliate marketing program. So if you decide to buy anything given on my blog, I may earn a small amount of commission without costing any extra penny to you. The commission I receive from the Merchant, DOES NOT affect your purchase cost at all as the price for your product will always be the same whether you buy that product via my blog or not. Most of the revenue is reinvested in the maintenance of this website i.e. URL and Web Server space, themes, plugins, performance upgrades, security upgrades etc. I have a full disclaimer about my earning from the blog here on this page.
Are you a Fashion Designer or Graduate?
No, I am not. I am a Computer Science professional and have no fashion/style professional or educational qualification. Whatever I put on blog is part of my own choices, likes and dislikes.
Is the Elbe your full-time job?
No, it is not. Even though I may earn a small chunk from Elbe, but it is not my full-time bread and butter source. I have another full-time job.
How many people are behind Elbe or Is there a team behind Elbe?
Only Yours Truly 🙂 Elbe is a one-woman army.
I have seen Royal pictures on your Instagram, are you a royal follower?
Yes, I am. I have been following the British Royal Family since my early years. I am also huge Queen Letizia admirer. I love Queen Letizia and Duchess of Cambridge’s style. Apart from these two royal ladies, I also like the style of Queen Rania of Jordan, Princess Mary and Princess Marie of Denmark, Countess Sophie of Wessex.
How do you design outfit pictures? Do you use any specific tool?
I use few Adobe Creative Cloud products i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator to modify and design outfit pictures. Sometimes, I use a few Video and GIF-making apps.
Is Elbe Couture House is registered or trademarked?
Yes, Elbe Couture House is a registered blog with its own trademark that is displayed on its pictures usually. I design all the outfit collages on my own.
If you have any question that is not answered here, let me know.
